Dear Fellow Water Fowler,

I wanted to let you know about an exciting new fund-raising campaign the WAI now has underway—the Waterfowl Association of Iowa Trumpeter Swan Educational Project.

The WAI has developed a plan to help educate youth and adults about the difference between Pelicans, Snow Geese and Swans in an attempt to reduce the mortality rate of swans in and to help inform the general public about the trumpeter Swan Restoration Program efforts in Iowa through a traveling display highlighting an actual mounted Trumpeter Swan.  This educational program will be conducted in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

It is the goal of the WAI Trumpeter Swan Educational Project to raise $1200.00 to be used towards the costs involved with the taxidermy work, wood display case and contributing donator’s plaque.

How Can You Help?  Please take a moment to read through the enclosed information outlining our fundraising program goal and this exciting new program.  Any contribution you would consider making to this project is tax deductible.  Contributing donors will also have their name engraved on a plaque depicting the names of all contributing donors who were gracious enough to contribute.

Please also take a moment and read the enclosed WAI brochure, and if possible share it with a friend.  It outlines our mission statement and gives an overview of what the Waterfowl Association of Iowa (WAI) is all about and how you can become an important tool in the future of Iowa water fowling.

Thank you for your time.  And remember, by making your tax deductible contribution of $20.00 or more you will help the WAI in their efforts to educate people from around the state about this magnificent bird and the Trumpeter Swan restoration efforts currently underway in Iowa.

Sincerely,

Waterfowl Association of Iowa, Inc.
